Macular Degeneration is the leading cause of vision loss, which can affect more than 10 million Americans – more than cataracts and glaucoma combined. Macular Degeneration is considered an incurable eye disease. — macular.org
A late sixty years old lady came to my office for treating her Macular Degeneration in both eyes. She has early dry eye type with corneal dystrophies. She has reading difficulty as the macular degeneration causes her vision blurs in the center. So we did acupuncture and acupressure on meridian points and experienced points or trigger points around her eyes. Treatment was done with gentle, thin acupuncture needles as points around eyes are very sensitive.
After two sessions, she told me her eye conditions have been improved. Her vision test shows she can see two level down in the chart. She can see smaller sized words. And her sight is more clear than weeks ago. She feels her eyes are no longer dry. She feels her face has more moisture. She notices that she now can sweat in face and head versus no sweating during exercise. She believes acupuncture has made her body and mind changing including her vision.
