Carpal tunnel syndrome causes tingling, pain, and numbness in hand from pressure on the median nerve in the wrist.
The conditions most often affect the hand and sometimes the forearm, but they can spread up to the shoulder
I just treated a 60 years old patient with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. She has tingling and numbness on hand and finger tips: thumb, pointer, middle and ring fingers. She is a piano teacher and uses her fingers extensively. The tingling and numbness started months ago and she was worried that the conditions can impact her profession. She has consulted neurologist and doctor recommends her to have surgery. But her daughter who was my patient recommended her to try acupuncture first.
The treatment includes acupuncture, electrical stimulation, acupuncture pressure, combustion, therapeutic exercise. After three treatment, patient came to me and said she does not feel tingling and numberless throughout week. The exercise I recommend her to do in the week is similar to the following link plus heat pads.
