Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) supplementation in diminished ovarian reserve (DOR)
First of all, DHEA supplementation is not popular in Washington DC area fertility clinics. I heard one doctor in New York and another in Colorado promoting DHEA for raising Testosterone. However, there has been no human trial because of difficulty of getting women signing in. I only have couple of patients telling me that they use DHEA and their age were around 40 years old. Since it is recommended by their doctors but their choice, I did not object to its use, and it is not my choice and knowledge. I am sorry that taking DHEA did not work out for them in DOR situation. My experience of DHEA is its heat phenomena and does not help follicle grow. If it would be used, it is better in Luteal phase or used with herbs.
